The event took place at Multipurpose Hall of Government House, Maiduguri Borno.
As usual, Mrs Shettima always extend her support to Christian widows every year to ease difficulties they might encounter during Christmas celebration.
In her remarks, wife of the Borno state Governor, Her Excellency Mrs Nana Shettima represented by Honourable Commissioner of Women Affairs Hon. Fanta Baba Shehu said, Women should be watchdog of their wards and children, through continuous counselling in all aspects of life, especially on the need to shun drug abuse.
In a presentation by Professor Mustapha Kokori of the Biological Science University of Maiduguri at the event, SWOT foundation he said, is aimed at comforting needy, widows, orphans and Tsangaya system all the times. He urged the beneficiaries to thank and pray for Mrs Shettima for taking care of their psychological, social and economic needs all the times.
Prof Kokari also emphasised on the dangers of drug abuse to society and called on the society to join hands to curtail drug abuse in our dear state and the nation at large.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Chairperson Christian Widows Association of Borno state appreciated Her Excellency for standing firm all the times in assisting all vulnerable, less privilege and the needy irrespective of religious difference.
Climax of the occasion was presentation of the gifts which comprises of a bag of rice, a carton of Spaghetti, gallon of oil, wrapper, detergents and token amount of money to 200 beneficiaries.
