In continuation with the distribution of relief materials donated by Her Excellency the Wife of the President Hajiya Aisha Buhuri, The internally displaced persons taking refuge at the various official camps as well as those residing within the host communities continue to benefit from the distribution process.
The committee was at Shehuri South, Shehuri North, Mairi I and Mairi II to reach out to the IDPs who are taking refuge at the various host communities, where over 2000 pregnant and lactating mothers received the items.
Hajiya Ya’Bawa Kolo a member of the comitteee, said the committee’s target is to reach all the official IDP camps and the 27 wards of Jere and MMC Wards, which are serving as host communities to the internally displaced persons before the end of this week.
The committee was also at the NYSC camp yesterday where 1364 pregnant and lactating mothers benefitted from the distribution of the food items. In a similar development, the committee was also at the Teacher’s Village IDPs camp, where over 2000 women received the food items.
Professor Hauwa Biu also a member of the committee, expressed her satisfaction with the level of cooperation and support the committee has been receiving from the camp officials. These include the staff of SEMA, NEMA, and the security operatives manning the various IDPs camp so far visited, she also disclosed that community leaders, members of the public and the CJTF have also been giving them the required support in ensuring successful distribution of the materials.
The committee finally call on all individuals and groups to continue giving them the necessary support so that the items will continue to reach the target population in a harmonious atmosphere.
